  • Springfield, IL Entry Level Tech

    Barcom Security is an established growing company seeking entry level and experienced applicants for a Full-Time position in the Springfield, IL Area. 


    Systems can include Intrusion, Fire, Cameras, Access Control, and more. Installs will consist of both Residential and Commercial. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper function, and to diagnose malfunctions. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details.


    Company vehicle, gas and tools are provided. Candidate must pass a drug screening, a driving record check and finger print /background check before employment. Must have flexible schedule, able to be on call for evening calls and weekend calls.


    You will need to pick up supplies for jobs in our Springfield, Illinois office

    Job Description: We are seeking an entry to mid-level technician to install/ service security systems, fire alarm systems, video surveillance cameras and recording systems, video doorbells, access control, intercoms, audio/video, and smart home equipment.


    You must enjoy working with wired and wireless electronics, have an understanding of ohms law, AC/DC electrical circuits, and electronics in general.     Your duties will include, but not be limited to:


    • Install, maintain, troubleshoot security, fire alarm, a/v, equipment, and cabling in residential & commercial buildings.
    • Complete jobs consistently within budget, job sites, building plans & installation manuals to determine material requirements & installation procedures.
    • Complete installation checklists
    • Maintain clean, and organized work space and work vehicle.
    • Routinely stock organize inventory on vehicle.
    • Pickup, deliver, Inventory.
    • Train in, and learn computer networking and programming of systems.
    • Demonstrate systems to end users.
    • Be respectful and courteous to customers and coworkers.
    • Train and achieve industry and manufacturer certifications.

Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms. Experience with Notifier and Edwards is a plus.


    Prefer candidates that have at least one year experience in the Security Installation business. Company vehicle, gas and tools are provided. Candidate must pass a drug screening, a driving record check and finger print /background check before employment. Must have flexible schedule, able to be on call for evening calls and weekend calls.

  • Central Station Operator - Swansea, IL

    Barcom, Inc. is a growing Security Company that is currently seeking a detail-

    oriented individual to become part of our UL regulated Central Station team. This

    position is for a Central Station operator.


    Central Station Emergency Dispatch Operator duties include, but are not limited

    to: monitoring and dispatching proper authorities to residential and commercial

    customers, assisting customers with alarm issues, monitoring the computer for

    alarm signals, responding to incoming calls, placing outgoing calls to verify

    alarms, all while accurately documenting information. Other responsibilities will

    include setting up new accounts in the computer system, downloading new

    systems, and trouble-shooting alarm issues with technicians.


    Candidate must have flexible hours: Days, overnights, and weekends. Shift

    premium is paid for overnight/weekend shifts. Candidate will work 40 hours.

    Pay will be based on experience. Call center experience is a plus, but not

    necessary. Other skills needed: Organized, strong communication skills-verbally

    and written, and computer/typing skills. This position requires a High School

    Degree or Equivalent.
